Frequently Asked Questions

HERE ARE SOME ANSWERS TO your MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Art

What materials are used to create the artworks?

All art materials used in my work are of professional quality.

For a complete list, please visit this post on my blog.

How will my paper artwork be presented?

Some standard format artworks are presented with an acid-free conservation mat. They are used by archivists and will be shipped flat in a cardboard box or self-adhesive gusseted envelope. A certificate of authenticity will accompany the artwork.

I bought a painting made on wood panel.  Do I have to frame it?

My wood panel artworks arrive ready to be hung on your wall as the sides of the panels are painted, so it can remain unframed.  However, if you prefer your artwork to be framed, your local art frame store will have no problem finding a suitable frame that will fit around the wood panel.

How do I take care of a paper artwork?

For all artworks on paper, please take care with the handling. The less you touch the paper, the better it is. Do not hesitate to wear latex or cotton gloves when you touch the artwork. Mats are still an effective way to keep the work safe for many years. To preserve a drawing, place it horizontally in a safe place, if you are going to store it for a long time before framing it.

How do I choose the ideal location for the artwork?

Keep them away from sources of heat, light and humidity. The long-term damage that light can do to works of art is irreversible, so make sure that neither lamps nor sunlight ever shine directly onto them.

Positioning them at the intersection of two indirect rays, for example, can be a solution, or purchasing protective glass.

If you plan to put your work in a kitchen or bathroom, you should protect it with a glass or Plexiglas window in a frame. It can withstand water, grease and dust. A framed work only needs a wipe with a dry cloth to be cleaned.

How do I take care of an artwork on wood panel?

Avoid places that are too dry or too damp, such as attics and cellars. Choose a place with a constant temperature and moderate humidity.  Direct sunlight can fade the colours.  Don't put paintings directly on the floor, and use a support to protect them from the floor.

How often do you ship orders?

I ship orders once a week.

How long does shipping usually take?

Some orders will take longer depending on cultural events (during holidays, postal carriers usually see a large influx of orders to process and therefore shipping times are affected) and often orders to rural areas will take longer than those to metropolitan areas.

If you have any concerns, please feel free to email us.
